Just regular question about email servers. Can anyone tell me what is the difference betwen POP3 and IMAP servers? I have this option almost in every e-mail client today?

POP3 is older protocol.

The main difference is that POP3 always downloads complete messsage and stores it locally.

With IMAP you download just headers of messages so if you don't open the message, it will not be downloaded and you can save some bandwidth.

I personally still prefer POP3 because I like to have a local copy which is always accessible, even without internet connection.
