TED: Camera shooting at trillion frames per second |

Ramesh Raskar, a Associate Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at MIT Media Lab explains the new type of ridiculously fast photographing technique called femto-photography. With this exceptional high-speed camera that is capable of capturing images at a rate of one trillion frames per second, they have managed to capture the light and then play it at a 10 billion times slower speed so we can see for the very first time how the light travels and how it scatters when encountering a barrier on its way.
The fento-camera could in the future prove to be very useful in the fields of traffic safety, medicine, people and animal rescuing or every day things like checking if the fruit in supermarket is ripe by taking a photo with your smartphone.
