Click your Profile button (see picture).

In your profile, click Update Info.
|

In the Basic Info section click Edit.
|

Find your Relationship Status setting, click the privacy button next to it and choose Only Me (see picture).

Now click Edit again to set your Basic Info ...

... and change your Relationship Status.
|

Click Save.
And that's it, your friends and other folks will not notice that you are single again or in a new relationship.
You can always set the Relationship Status privacy back so your friends or other people can see it. Just take a look at the step 4. If you set it to Public, everyone can see it, if you set it to Friends only your friends are in title to know about your love life, etc...
