How to move Mac OS X Dock to side of a screen

Want to try out how it feels with Dock being vertical at the left or right side of your screen?

This is how your Dock looks like right now and let's say you want to move it to the the side of your screen.

Click System Preferences icon in your Dock.

If there's no such icon in your Dock, put system preferences Spotlight search.

 
 
3.
 

Click Dock in Personal settings.

 
 
4.
 

Position of screen choose Left or Right.

I chose the left side of my screen.

 
 
5.
 

And here it is.

Just choose Bottom if you want your Dock to be at the bottom of screen again.
