Design a Stylish Round Label in Photoshop

A bit longer but still pretty basic and easy to follow Photoshop tutorial, where we design a nice and stylish label from scratch.

1.

Click here to download the font used in this tutorial.

You can use one of your own fonts as well but a bit of adjusting will be necessary.

Click here for the how to install a font in Windows tutorial if you are not sure how to install a font.

Create a new Photoshop document size of a 600 x 600 px and white background.

Click the Horizontal Type Tool and choose the font you just downloaded and installed (or one of your own) and set the Size of a font to 60pt.

2.

Type a word, press Enter and type another word.

You can of course type more then one words, but again some adjustments will probably be needed.

3.

Right click the new text layer and choose Duplicate Layer...

4.

Now double-click the new duplicated text layer thumbnail to select the text (see picture).

5.

Set a light gray foreground color.

6.

Choose the Move Tool.

7.

And use Down arrow key to move the duplicated light gray text down as I did.

You can use your mouse instead of arrow keys if you like.

8.

Choose the Ellipse Tool.

9.

Shape layers options should be selected (see picture).

10.

And draw a circle over the text.

Hold Shift key to draw a circle.

11.

Now click and drag the new Shape layer bellow the both text layers (see picture).

12.

Set a light green foreground color.

13.

Create a new layer.

14.

And draw a circle, only a bit smaller then the first one.

15.

Press Ctrl + T for the free transform mode and move the green circle in center of the bigger gray circle.

Press Enter when done.

16.

Now select both text layers and in the menu click Layer, Rasterize and choose Type.

Hold Ctrl key to select more then one layers at the same time.

17.

Now press V for the Move Tool and center align the text.

You can use your mouse or arrow keys on your keyboard.

18.

Select the circle Shape layers and press Ctrl + E to merge the two layers into one layer.

19.

Click here to download a crumpled paper texture image.

In the menu click File and choose Place... then choose the Dreevoo_com_crumpled_paper.jpg image you just downloaded and click Place.

20.

Now adjust and rotate the paper a bit like I did and press Enter.

Use your mouse outside paper's corners to rotate the paper.

21.

Right click the crumpled paper layer and choose Clipping Mask.

22.

Set the crumpled paper layer Opacity to about 20%.

23.

Choose the Eraser Tool.

Set the soft eraser brush and size to about 100 and Opacity to about 40%.

24.

All you have to do now is choose the text layer and click to erase parts of text a bit to achieve the washed up look.

And you are done!
