Activate new Timeline profile for Facebook pages

Facebook has just launched a new look for Facebook pages, already known from personal profiles and this is how you activate it.

  Author: mat | Version: | 1st March 2012 |

1.

Sign to you Facebook account and on the left site of your profile, click the Facebook page you want to activate Timeline on (see picture).

Click here to learn how to create a Facebook (fan) Page for a brand or company.

2.

All the Facebook pages are getting upgraded to the Facebook Timeline automatically on March 30th if you want it or not.

Click Preview.

3.

Click Add a cover.

4.

Click OK.

5.

We will now ad a cover photo. Cover photo is a big image (850 x 315 pixels) on the top of your new future Facebook page Timeline profile, that people will when visiting your Facebook page. Choose wisely, choose a nice image that identifies your brand and makes your potential customers feel good.

You can now choose from one of your existing photos you already uploaded to your Facebook page or choose a brand new one.

I'm going to upload a new one, so I'll click Upload Photo.

The image you're going to use as a cover, doesn't necessarily need to be exactly 850 x 315 pixels big, as you will be able to drag and adjust it in one of the following steps. I do recommend you to use a 850 x 315 tailored image, as it will look the nicest. Just don't use image with smaller dimensions as 850 x 315 pixels it can end up looking messy and unprofessional.

6.

Choose the image you're going to use as you Facebook Timeline cover photo.

7.

Click, drag and fine tune position of image.

8.

When you're done and satisfied with the Cover image, click Save Changes.

9.
