Text on background
In this beginners lesson we're going to enter some text and then add some background color underneath.

1.

Open a new document and choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T).
|
|
|

|
|
Choose the Font color...
|
|
|

|
|
Click the document and enter some text.
|
|
|

|
|
Click Commit button to commit the text changes (see picture).
|
|
|

|
|
Create a new layer button.
|
|
|

|
|
Choose the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M)...
|
|
|

|
|
... and select the area you want to add as a background for your text.
|
|
|

|
|
|
In the menu click Edit and choose Fill...
In the Fill settings window choose Color... for the Use option...
|
|
|

|
|
...and choose a color of your choice.
Just any color you want, just watch it doesn't clash with the text color.
Click OK and click OK.
|

This is how it looks like now.

Click and hold the layer you created before...
|
|
|

|
...and drag it beneath the text layer.
|
|
|

Your text on a color background is done.
