Website design part 6

In this lesson we will create in free editor GIMP a part of the material that we will use at subpages.

Open GIMP application.

Click File and  select New.

Select Template 800x600 and click OK.

Click Foreground & background colours.

At HTML notation field enter 5f8cbb and click OK.

Click Edit and select Fill with FG colour.

Select Text Tool.

Select Arial Heavy font and 40 px Size.

At HTML notation field enter 0a527c.

Write any text for your link.

I have written About sailing trip.

At Layer window select About sailing trip layer, right-click on the layer and select Duplicate Layer.

Now instead of first layer write something else.

I have written Photos instead About sailing trip.

Select second layer in layer window, right-click and select Duplicate Layer.

Click duplicated layer and write something else instead of second layer.

I have written Contact instead of Photos.

Select Rectangle Select Tool.

Select text.

Click Crop to Selection.

The text is croped.

Now click Image and select Rotate 90 clockwise.

The text is rotated.

Select only first layer.

Click eye icon to mark or unmark layers.

Click File and select Save as...

Save the file in the folder you have created at the beginning.

If you are prompted that given filename cannot be used for saving click Take me to the Export dialog and under Select File Type select JPEG image. Click Export. At Export Image as JPEG window set Quality to 90. Click Export.

Now select second layer...

...and save the file in the folder you have created at the beginning.
