Blood cells effect

We're going to make a quite realistic blood cells effect using only Photoshop filters.

  Author: mat | Version: | 27th September 2011 |

1.

Start the Photoshop and create a new document.

In the menu click Edit and choose Fill (Shift + F5 for a keyboard shortcut).

2.

In the new Fill window change the Use: field to Black and click OK.

Your empty document is now black.

3.

Let's apply some filters now.

In the menu click Filter, Noise and Add Noise...

4.

In the Noise settings window set the amount to 50%, check Gaussian option under Distribution and Check the Monochromatic option.

5.

In the menu click Filter, Artistic and Cutout...

6.

In the Cutout settings window set the options like on the picture (8, 0, 3) and click OK.

7.

Your image should now look like mine.

8.

Let's apply the last filter.

In the menu click Filter, Stylize and Glowing Edges ...

9.

In the new settings windows set the options just like I did (2, 8, 5) and click OK.

10.

Now let's pump some color in those blood cells.

Click Image, Adjustments and Hue/Saturation (Ctrl + U for keyboard shortcut).

11.

In the settings window check the Colorize option...

12.

...and set the options just like I did (0, 20, -20).

13.

And there's your blood cell picture, looking good. :)
