Simple Two Color Pop Art Photo Effect

Pretty simple and interesting Photoshop tutorial where we will open random photograph and add a two color pop art effect.

Open any photograph you want.

I have opened a sample photo from my Lumia phone.

Then press Ctrl (Command on MacOS) and J keys twice to make two duplicates.

The layer above must remain selected.

Click above on Image, Adjustments and select Threshold...

In a new window set the pretty much same value like I did and press OK.

This is my example till now.

Now click above on Select and choose Color Range...

In a new window click somewhere on a black color on photograph ...

... to select it and press OK.

The black color is selected. Now we will inverse the selection to select the white one. We could do this already on step 5 but practice makes us better :)

Click above on Select and choose Inverse.

We will fill the selected white color with custom color.

Now click above on Edit and choose Fill...

Then click on Use field and choose Color...

Select any color you want and press OK twice to confirm it.

This is my picture till now.

Set blending mode to Multiply of current layer.

Then select the layer below (see my pic).

Click above on Image, Adjustments and select Threshold...

In a new window set the pretty much same value like I did and pressOK.

Click above on Filter, Artistic and choose Paint Daubs...

In a new window set the pretty much same values like I did and pressOK.

And we are finished.
