Russia was first in space, the United States was the first on the moon and Japan will now be the first nation to send a robot-astronaut to space that can communicate with humans.
On Saturday, Japan sent Kirobo a small talking robot along with tons of supplies to the International Space Station. Kirobo is a humanoid or how creators like to call a robot astronaut designed and programmed to talked with astronauts in space and with the crew on the ground.
Cute manga style robot is 13.4 inches (34 cm) tall and rocks the latest speech recognition technology made possible by the Japanese motor giant Toyota. Kirobo can speak Japanese and will be speaking to the astronaut Kiochi Wataka in Deceber this year, when he arrives to the International Space Station.
Farewell little Kirobo, congrats for being the first humanoid in space that can interact with human astronauts. In the video bellow you can see Kirobo in action.
