Keep the network connection on while Mac is sleeping

If you want your Mac OS X computer to be available on the network even when in the sleep state, than check this out.

Go to System Preferences.






Also recommended:

Click Energy Saver.

Enable the Wake for network access option.

Click OK.

And that's it.

Here you can also after how much time you want your Mac to go to sleep. If you don't want your Mac to ever go to sleep them simply slide the slider all the way to the right - Never.

I wouldn't recommend this though, especially if your Mac is always turned on.
